Cross stunning Lake Manapouri by ferry then, by coach, cross the Southern Alps over the Wilmot Pass into Deep Cove. Get a taste of Doubtful Sound with 3 hours of actual paddling out on the fiord exploring Deep Cove, Rolla Island and over to Olphert Cove and return.
Access to Doubtful Sound kicks off with a cruise across Lake Manapouri by ferry and a coach across the Southern Alps, via the Wilmot Pass. Here you’ll get changed, prepare the double sea kayaks and hit the water.
Doubtful Sound is home to some unique birds, seals, dolphins and the very rare Fiordland Crested Penguin which are sometimes encountered on Rolla Island as you paddle around the shoreline. Kayaking is one of the best ways to capture these rare and unique photo opportunities.
Experienced guides carry all the relevant group safety and equipment necessary. A full safety and paddling techniques briefing will be provided before getting on the water.
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.
