Encounter these intelligent and playful mammals up close in their natural environment. You may even get the chance to swim with the dolphins in the warmest waters in New Zealand.
Board your boat from Paihia or Russell wharf where your crew will give you a friendly welcome. After departing Russell, the crew will give you a full safety briefing, instructions for swimmers and an overview of what you can expect from the trip.
Once the skipper finds a pod of dolphins, the experienced crew need to make sure conditions for swimming are just right, as laid down by the Department of Conservation regulations. All equipment including fins, snorkel and wetsuit are provided.
Once you have the ok from the skipper, join the dolphins in the water for a true bucket list experience.
Bonus: Island stopover at Otehei Bay if time and conditions allow.
This is a seasonal experience, available from 1 December to 30 April only.
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.
There is a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 54 people on this experience.
Please ensure you bring swimming gear and a towel.
