Get a taste of New Zealand's farming lifestyle with a visit to Walter Peak High Country Station. Take off from Queenstown on a scenic flight with superb alpine and lake views, enjoy an interactive farm tour and a BBQ lunch and return to Queenstown on the iconic steamship TSS Earnslaw.
Holding a lakeside address on the south-western side of Lake Wakatipu, Walter Peak High Country Farm is as pretty as a painting. Lifting off from Queenstown airport, you will be treated to spectacular aerial views of the Wakatipu Basin, Arrowtown, Coronet Peak ski fields and the CBD before tracking along the northern side of the country's longest lake, Lake Wakatipu. Continue over Glenorchy and the Paradise region before experiencing a unique landing on a non-sealed airstrip. At Walter Peak station, you will enjoy an interactive farm tour as you take in the quaint waterside farm. See the sheep dogs in action, bottle feed a baby lamb and mingle with all the other animal residents. Then, you'll head to the Colonel's Homestead Restaurant for a gourmet barbecue lunch. Wind down the tour with a relaxing cruise back to Queenstown aboard the iconic steamship TSS Earnslaw.
