This Queenstown River Surfing Adventure is not for the faint-heated! Take on the mighty Kawarau river, and learn skills such as running rapids, surfing standing waves, riding whirlpools and more! Ideal for thrill-seekers, this mind-blowing experience whilst crazy, has a 100% safety record!

And you thought riding any rapid was fun... try a freshwater Grade 3 or 4! Depending on the water level, you'll be taken to one of two sections of river known as awesome river-surfing destinations. In small groups no larger then ten, you'll be shown basic technique by experienced, qualified instructors. From there you'll have the time of your life - surf standing waves and then on your front, ride whirlpools, rock jump and even learn squirting (flying under water)!

This amazing day out includes ALL EQUIPMENT and return travel to the rapids from Queenstown! Hassle-free adventure!

This experience shuttles you from a meeting place in Queenstown to sweet river locations.

Session Length

Book early! This experience operates most days from September to May, closed only on Christmas Day. This river-surfing adventure is a four-hour experience from departure and return to Queenstown. You can choose between a morning or afternoon session, departing at either 9am or 2pm.

Guidelines:

A reasonable level of fitness is required, since River Surfing is a pro-active sport. Kicking is an important part of the activity. Kids age 8 and over are welcome at full price. Kids between age 8 and 11 get their own instructor!
