For the ultimate thrill join the crew and participate in match racing America’s Cup style. Your three hour experience begins in the Viaduct Harbour where you will go through a short race and safety briefing. Then the action really starts, when we line up in the pre-start and compete head to head.

The three hour match race is suitable for everyone:

  • Participate as crew or sit back and relax
  • No experience necessary
  • Sailings twice a week (October to April)

The America’s Cup is the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting trophy and ultimate yachting regatta. Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL 40 and NZL 41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to participate sailing on these grand prix racing machines.

With the America’s Cup being sailed in New Zealand in 2000 and 2003, no trip is complete without experiencing the real Auckland, ‘City of Sails’.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Auckland.

Session Length

This experience is 3 hours in duration. We sail twice a week OCTOBER - APRIL only.

Guidelines:

No experience is necessary. Trip not suitable for children under 10, for pregnant women or people with medical disabilities, wheelchairs can be accommodated with favourable weather. Please consult skipper prior to departure.

Numbers:

Each yacht is surveyed for a maximum of 30 passengers however numbers are restricted to 25 for match racing.

Weather:

NZL 40 and NZL 41 sail in all but the most extreme weather. It is rare to have to cancel a sailing because of too much wind. Likewise no wind is a very rare problem. In the event trip is cancelled, we will re-schedule to suit your availability.

Suitability Information:

This experience may be suitable for people with a hearing and / or mobility impairment. Wheelchairs may be accommodated during smooth weather conditions. Please contact us to discuss your suitability.
