This scenic cruise enables you and a friend to savour the delights of Lake Taupo. From the spacious decks, experience the crystal waters of the beautiful Lake, discover the Maori rock carvings, the spectacular mountains of the volcanic plateau and the remote natural beauty.

Your daily scenic cruise begins at Taupo Boat Harbour. Meet at our green-and-yellow booking office approximately 15 minutes prior to departure time and our friendly staff will guide you to the jetty where you will board our launch.

The aroma of fresh coffee brewing meets you as you set off on your cruise around the scenic lake shores to the Maori Rock Carvings. An informative DVD plays to give you an insight into our other activities.

We have full bar facilities on board where you can purchase hot and cold drinks while you take in the fabulous 360-degree views of secluded bays and the spectacular snow covered mountains.

Your scenic cruise includes a full and interesting commentary of the lake and local and Maori history.

What's Included:

  • 10.30am and 2pm Cruises: free muffin and tea/coffee
  • 5pm Cruise: free glass of wine of beer (instead of the free muffin and tea/coffee).

Session Length

This experience is available every day, departing at 10.30am and returning at 12noon. From November 1 to April 30 there is an additional departure time of 2pm and 5pm. Summer weekends and school holidays are very busy – please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

This cruise is suitable for almost anyone.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for 2 people. The scenic cruise can host up to 90 people.

Spectators:

Friends or family are welcome to watch your departure and arrival from the jetty.

Weather:

We operate in most weather conditions. In extreme weather, this experience may be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.

    We had a marvelous trip. Really enjoyed the muffin and coffee, and the commentary was excellent. Very courteous staff. We certainly got value for money! Thank you very much for a great time.
