Jemma Fastnedge is CEO of RedBalloon. Throughout her eight year career at RedBalloon, she has held responsibility across all key business functions, from Product Manager to Marketing Manager before accepting the General Manager role in 2007 and then CEO in 2011.
Jemma has been instrumental in the impressive growth of RedBalloon, which from 2005-2009 has been consistently awarded the number one website in the Hitwise Shopping Gifts and Flowers category and has placed for four consecutive years in the BRW FAST 100 (2006-2009).
Jemma lives and breathes the RedBalloon brand and is passionate about creating a company where people come to work to enjoy and see value in what they do. In 2009 RedBalloon was voted ninth in the BRW 50 Best Places to Work For. She believes strongly that “Happy People = Happy Customers” and genuinely gets a kick out of how to best represent this online. For her the employee experience and customer experience are intrinsically linked.
Prior to joining RedBalloon, Jemma spent five years agency-side working on some of the first website iterations for high profile UK fashion and FMCG brands in addition to working in the broadcast industry, delivering innovative public relations campaigns across TV, radio and online including several of the UK’s first celebrity online chats.
