Napier Night Tour and Three Course Meal

At the beginning of your evening we will pick you up from your accommodation in a comfortable nine-seater minibus.

When we arrive at Napier you will be given a brief overview of the history of the city and its Art Deco heritage. During your tour you will see an amazing variety of buildings in the styles of the 1930s – Stripped Classical, Spanish Mission and above all, Art Deco.

You will learn about how the surrounding land was raised out of the sea during the 1931 Napier earthquake, which measured 7.8 on the Richter scale.

You will visit the Centennial Gardens, an area that was once the site of a quarry. Materials mined from this quarry were used to build Napier Prison.

You will get fantastic nighttime views of Napier from the Hill; learn of the fate of the three-masted sailing schooner Montmorency, its crew and passengers; and hear the story of Pania, the beautiful maiden of the sea people.

You will also visit Port Ahuriri (West Quay) and learn the amazing history of what was Napier’s main port prior to the earthquake.

To finish your evening you will enjoy a three-course evening meal at one of Napier’s top restaurants. Your meal includes bubbles and canapés, a starter with wine, main with wine and a dessert. So bring your appetite!
