Fly Over and Land On A Mountain! Chest Peak is quintessential NZ alpine landscape - and now you can conquer it! Enjoy the relaxing return flights, encompassing Waimakariri Gorge, the Canterbury Plains, Ashlet River and Lee's Valley.

From the Christchurch we fly west over the Canterbury Plains on track to the majestic Waimakariri Gorge, gateway to the Southern Alps. Enjoy the thrill of flying through this spectacular steep sided river canyon before climbing to land at high altitude on the summit of the dramatic Chest Peak. Here you will enjoy expansive 360 degree views overlooking the Canterbury Plains and our snow capped alpine mountains. After enjoying some light refreshments in the pure mountain air, re board your helicopter and enjoy a thrilling descent over the Ashley River and Lee’s Valley for the return flight to Christchurch. This is a truly unforgettable trip which can be made even more special by requesting our optional picnic lunch to be enjoyed either in the heart of the Waimakariri Gorge, or on the top of Chest Peak.

Session Length

This amazing experience is 90 minutes in duration. It operates every day except Christmas Day, between 8am and dusk. Bookings are essential.

Max participant weight is 136kgs. Bring your camera!

Price is based on a minimum of two people. Flights are non exclusive so there may or may not be other passengers on board.

Weather:

All flights are weather dependent. If your flight is postponed due to weather, it will be rescheduled for the earliest possible opportunity. If bad weather looks likely, we'll let you know ASAP.
