This experience will give you 24 hours with a bright red 1959 Austin Healey Sprite. You'll fall in love with this piece of world motoring history whilst driving through the stunning Canterbury region. Find a beautiful spot, pull over and share a picnic lunch with that special someone.

When you arrive at our depot on the morning of your classic car hire experience you will find your stunning Austin Healey ready and raring to go! The Frog Eyed Sprite is the greatest of small sports cars. It's a cheeky little character, and is just bursting for you to take it out for a day of smiles and laughter.

Classic cars can be quite different from modern cars, so before you set off on your adventure we take you through the workings of the vehicle. We explain how to operate the controls, raise and lower the soft top, and fill you with lots of general information on our wee baby.

You then fill out the hire form agreement and hop on in! Equipped with a map book, picnic blanket, folding chairs and sumptuous picnic basket, you set off on your classic car adventure through the beautiful Canterbury region.

You are allowed up to 24 hours with the cheeky red Austin Healey, and afterwards you return the car to our depot. We'll have a chat about the perfect day of dining and motoring you have enjoyed and you'll go home with a head full of classic-car-hire memories that will last a lifetime!

Your picnic hamper includes: bananas, apples, grapes, oranges, bread rolls, salamis, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, a cheese board, crackers, Fresh Up, Sun Country sparkling grape juice, Italian water, Cookie Time cookies, chocolate almonds, peanuts, dried apricots.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Session Length

The Austin Healey is available for hire seven days a week between 8am and 6pm, however pick-up outside of these hours might be arranged with prior notice. Weekends are particularly busy, so please avoid disappointment and book as far in advance as possible. Car hire is for up to 24 hours.

Guidelines:

You must be over 21 years of age and hold an appropriate driver's licence. You must also have a valid credit card in your own name and the supplier must be able to hold a bond of $1500 NZD for over 25s, or $2000 NZD for under 25s on the said credit card for the period of hire.

If the weather is unsuitable, please contact the supplier and they will do their best to reschedule the experience for you.

Other Info:

Our classic cars are professionally maintained and have full, current registration, certificates of fitness, and insurance. The price quoted does not include fuel. You will be given a full tank of fuel and you must refill the car to the same level when you return.
